Yvonne is a qualified British Sign Language (BSL) Level 6 user and a native Deaf ISL (Irish Sign Language) user. She was born into a Deaf family in Ireland, where her first language is ISL. In 2010, she moved to England, embracing BSL as part of her professional and personal life.

Yvonne is a trainee Sign Language Translator and Relay/Intralingual Interpreter in both BSL and ISL. As a wife and mother of four children, three of whom are Deaf, she is deeply committed to advocating for the Deaf community and raising Deaf awareness. She works part-time as a support worker for Deaf and Deafblind clients and is actively involved in local groups for Deaf children and families in Essex.

In addition to her support work, Yvonne teaches BSL to children and adults from Levels 1 to 3 via remote, supporting communication and promoting understanding of Deaf culture. She is a member of the Association of British Sign Language Teachers and Assessors (ABSLTA).
